Kids Clay Class

In this fun, hands-on class, children will explore the exciting world of ceramics while building a strong foundation in clay techniques. Students will learn the basics of handbuilding which will include working with coils, slabs, and simple sculpting methods to create their own unique pieces. They’ll also be introduced to glazing, adding vibrant color and a lasting finish to their creations. This class encourages creativity, imagination, and confidence while teaching the fundamentals of ceramic art.Now enrolling for the Fall 1 2026 Semester!

Glazed & Confused: Colorful Glazing Made Sinple

Are you… confused about glazing your potter, wanting to get drippy glaze results but afraid of applying too much glaze, starting to use commercial glazes and just don’t know where to begin, looking to maximize your glaze possibilities with the least amount of glaze purchases? If so, this is the workshop for you!Join pottery instructor, Kellie Kottmann for a glazing extravaganza! Learn how to create 24+ different glaze combinations with just a few glazes. This workshop will take a deep dive into combining Amaco Honey Flux with Mayco Stroke+Coats, covering color mixing and glaze application to create endless colorful combinations!
Kellie will provide an informational pdf document to all participants including: a step-by-step guide with pictures, color recommendations/mixing guide, shopping list, & project ideas.
All Glazes will be provided for this workshop!

We all scream for ice cream! Join us for a sweet collaboration between King Kone and Railyard Arts! In this workshop, participants will create their own handmade and glazed clay ice cream bowl. Using handbuilding techniques, this workshop will begin by forming and shaping your bowl. After you will have the chance to paint & decorate your bowl. Each registration includes a coupon for a FREE medium ice cream at King Kone to celebrate your finished piece! This fun family-oriented workshop invites anyone ages 6 & up to participate! Whether you're looking to spend a fun afternoon with friends or family, this is the perfect Summer workshop to play with clay! No clay or art experience necessary!
Ages 6+! Children under age 12 must be signed up with an adult or have an adult present during the workshop. If the adult plans to participate, they must also purchase a ticket! -
